- Find an opportunity
- This past weekend, I went to Orlando with my friends to go shopping at the premium outlets. I thought this would be the perfect place and opportunity to interview customers as there are shoppers all around.
- Figure out who might have an unmet need
- While we were inside the Columbia store, we noticed that there was an influx of unsatisfied customers. The reason? The store was still having a "holiday" sale with markdowns that were still having a great deal. But the only problem was that the massive store had only two changing rooms. A gigantic sports apparel store with only two changing rooms didn't make sense. It was clear that the customers' unmet need was lack of changing rooms.
- Come up with a list of questions
- Were there a lot of people/customers inside Columbia?
- Were you unsatisfied with a certain aspect of your shopping experience?
- Did you guys have to wait for a long time to have a changing room?
- How long did you guys have to wait?
- How many changing rooms were there?
- Would you be in favor of adding more changing rooms?
- Video
- What I learned from the opportunity
- I learned from this opportunity that it's not easy to satisfy all customers. The customers and employees all have different perpectives, wants, and needs that need to be fulfilled. However, in a business, even though it's sometimes hard to always fulfill this aspect, the customer should always come first.
- What I learned about interviewing customers
- To be honest, I did not particularly enjoy this exercise. Customers do not like being interrupted while they are doing their shopping, as it cuts into their time. Most people were reluctant to be interviewed, much less filmed. A lot did not want to be interviewed because of the fact that this would be uploaded on YouTube and put onto the Internet. If someone approached me and asked to take a video of me and put it online, I would not say yes. In addition, Columbia employees were reluctant to let me interview customers in the first place, but when they realized that the questions that was being asked, was putting the store in an unfavorable light. They then asked me to stop interviews and to delete the footage that I had gotten thus far. The people in my video agreed to interview again outside the store.

Interviewing Customers Number 1 (Week 4)
Week 4 Reading Reflection
Chapter 5 - Innovation: The Creative Pursuit of Ideas
- There wasn't really a "big surprise" for me in this reading, but in reflection, I would say that the one statement that stood out for me the most in this chapter was how critical recognizing the relationships is. According to the textbook by Kuratko, it states, "Many inventions and innovations are a result of the inventor's ability to see new and different relationships among objects, processes, materials, technologies, and people." I was unaware that the creative people were intuitively aware of this phenomenon of viewing things and people as existing in an complementary or appositional relationship with other things and people. This becomes a talent for recognizing new and different relationships and thus often lead to visions tat result in new ideas, products, and services.
- One part of the reading that was confusing to me was Phase 2: Incubation of the Creative Process. As creative individuals allow their subconscious to think about the information they gathered from the preparation phase, in my opinion, it seems wishy-washy to include the incubation phase if we can't truly measure or be aware of how that may play a vital role in the creative process.
- The first question I would ask the author would be, "What arena would you include your creativity in?"
- This is a question I would ask him because I want to know where he would channel his creativity in out of the seven arenas dicussed in the text; idea, material, organization, relationship, event, inner, and spontaneous.
- This is question I would ask him because I want to know what kind of mental habits that he personally has that would block or impede creative thinking.
- I don't think there was anything that the author was wrong about except for the part about the incubation phase that I mentioned in Question 2, above. I don't think the author was necessarily wrong in this aspect, but from my perspective, it seems too uncertain of a event to include in the Creative Process.
The second question I would ask the author would be: "What kind of habit would you have that is considered a muddling mind-set?"

Week 4: Top 5 World Problems
Problems
- International Terrorism
- Through current events, people all around the world are aware of ISIS and the dangerous threats they send out. ISIS, a radical Islamic terrorist group, has carried out some of these threats in a surprising, violent, and horrific nature. The most recent has been the Paris bombings, which devastated and stunned people around the globe. In addition, people were horrified to learn the details of the gruesome beheadings of international hostages, such as journalists and aid workers, as well as civilians and soldiers.
- A majority of Americans do not live a sustainable lifestyle
- In traveling parts of Europe and Asia, I've noticed a drastic difference in the way that the residents of these countries conserve. They definitely are more environmentally conscious with strict recyling laws, and the every day energy conserving habits that they have. Dorms in universities in Korea have key cards that you have to insert in an outlet in the wall for all electricity in the dorm to work. It is also the key to your door, so once you leave the room, everything gets shut down, which saves a lot of energy.
- Access to healthcare in poor countries
- A problem that poverty-stricken countries face is that many of the population do not have access to proper healthcare. This may especially be a problem for the women and children in the country in terms of getting the proper medical treatment for pre-natal, birth, and post-natal care, as well as virus prevention and vaccine access that could be incredibly beneficial to children.
- Increasing reliance on technology
- With the rapid technological changes, product innovation, and rise in the usage of technology overall, it's clear that the new generation will grow up accustomed to being constantly surrounded by technology. As part of the generation who is growing up being introduced to all these new technologies, we are constantly aware of how much it has become involved in our lives.
- Nuclear power in North Korea
- It's unsettling to know that North Korea has nuclear power. This is so because the country is so volatile and unstable. Although they make ridiculous threats all the time, the new leader of the dictatorship, Kim Jong Un, has proved to have an unstable mindset. They have access to nuclear weapons that can cause geat amounts of destruction.
Solutions
- International terrorism
- ISIS has made numerous threats to the United States and many other countries in the European Union as well. The best thing, as of now, is to have a tireless effort in surveying ISIS through counter-terrorism intelligence efforts, in order to intercept their messages and figure out their members.
- Increasing reliance on technology
- As a personal goal that everyone should keep for themselves, there should be certain parts of the day and week where there is a technology detox, so that more meaningful time can be spent for interpersonal communication.
- A majority of Americans do not live a sustainable lifestyle
- It is a social responsibility of everyone inhabiting this Earth to live a ecologically conscious lifestyle. Each little thing can make a difference, such as turning off the water in the shower while you shampoo and use soap and American dorms should develop similar outlets like Korean dorms.
- Access to healthcare in poor countries
- There are currently many international organizations that tirelessly work to provide healthcare aid to these countires, such as the American Red Cross, as well as other nonprofit organizations. The best solution to these would be to provide donations to these organizations to fund their efforts.
- Nuclear power in North Korea
- It's important for powerful countries, such as China, to put significant amounts of pressure on North Korea, in order to prevent them from doing harmful things.
I selected my top problem of international terrorism, specifically the devastating actions by ISIS, because of their power, following, and swift movements. Although it's easy to live our daily lives, unaffected by terror, but closely observing from the news, it's easy profound to know that the next attack can come out of nowhere, in the most unexpected of places. Paris, a city associated with beauty, love, glamour, art - a historic city that everyone dreams of visiting, fell victim to bombings and mass casualty. It's scary to think that an attack like that can come to the unexpecting and unsuspecting. Additionally, with ISIS's adept social media skills and presence, they have the ability to make their following greater, which they are doing so right now, curating the minds of radical citizens in every part of the world. This technology, however, is another reason that the solution for ISIS was also ranked at the top. ISIS may have their own tech geniuses, operating on evil notions, but intelligence and tech officials in law enforcements and special intelligence agencies of the United States, Europe, and Asia are more than well-eqipped with counter-intelligence to intercept, decode, and track.

Week 3 Reading Reflection
Chapter 2: The Entrepreneurial Mind-Set in Individuals
- The biggest surprise for me in the reading was learning about the entrepreneur's confrontation with risk. According to the reading, entrepreneurs face a number of different types of risk. These can be grouped in to four basic areas: (1) financial risk, (2) career risk, (3) family and social risk, and (4) psychic risk (Kuratko 39). Out of those four, the one that stood out the most for me was psychic risk, which is categorizes as being the greatest risk to the well-being of the entrepreneur. In situations where money can be replaced, and the people in the entrepreneur's life (family and friends) can adapt, the psychological impact has proven to not be the same and can sometimes be too severe for the entrepreneur to bounce back.
- One part of the reading that was confusing for me was analyzing the key elements of the Model of Entrepreneurial Motivation. The figure in the text showed a layout that was confusing to follow as personal charateristics, personal environment, personal goals, and business goals showed the drive, but the after-effect behaviors seemed to overlap with one another.
- The two things I would ask the author woud be:
- Have you ever personally experienced or seen the dark side of entrepreneurship?
- I would ask this question because it is interesting to hear about a more personal story that showcases the problems that may arise from the entrepreneurial ego.
- Would you say that you would be a high achiever if you were an entrepreneur?
- The characterist that is possibly the biggest drive in being an entrepreneur is the motivation to be a high achiever. I would like to hear the author's personal take on that for comparison.
- I do not think there was anything that the author was wrong about and I would not disagree with anything he said.
Week 3: Identifying Local Opportunities
- Doctor: Boynton beach mold issue is a nationwide problemhttp://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/news/local/doctor-boynton-beach-mold-issue-is-a-nationwide-pr/np992/Dr. Mark Pamer is a pulmonologist, a specialist in respiratory tract illnesses and issues. He has been an unusual number of certain patients, firefighters that serve the city of Boynton Beach. They're meeting with the pulmonologist to determine if they have health issues that may have risen from the mold that was discovered in two of the city's fire stations. The city closed Stations 1 and 3 in October and December, respectively. According to the article, three dead mice and rodent feces were apparently found in a bathroom air duct and an air-quality test was able to confirm mold in the air duct. It's evident that the problem presented in the story and the local unmet need is the issue of mold, toxic air consumption, and the health-related consequences it may have on the locals who were affected by it. Additionally, the situation brings forth a broader issue of not taking care of buildings, which caused the mold and rodents to appear in the first place. The people who were clearly most affected by this problem were the local officials who serve the community and the city of Boynton Beach. The firefighters will continue to receive health tests to check for mold-related health issues while the Boynton Beach city officials will make a scrambling effort to contain and get rid of this mold problem.
- Flights from WPB still delayed, canceled after Northeast blizzard
http://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/news/local/flights-from-wpb-still-delayed-canceled-after-nort/nqBp6/
There was an extreme blizzard this past weekend that hit many areas of the northeast United States, causing up to 18 flight cancellations. Travel arrangements had to be changed last-minute, large amounts of travelers were stuck in the airport causing stress and frustration, as well as the customer service who had to deal with this. The problem is that the blizzard is trapping people in the city they a that they're in, basiccally stranding them from getting to their destination. The people who affected by this would be people who work for the airline, in the airports and customer service, but most importantly, the travelers who are trying to fly to their destinations. - Sewage plant worker up for 130k settlement of whistleblower suit
http://westpalmbeat.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/01/25/sewage-plant-worker-up-for-130k-settlement-of-whistleblower-suit/A sewage plant worker, who fell through a broken railing and nearly tumbled into a sludge canal is expected to win a $130,000 settlement from the city after filing a whistleblower suit. The man, Joseph Grant, 48, sued in July, alleging he was fired for reporting the near-miss at the plant, where another worker drowned six months earlier. The lawsuit argued that Grant was fired in retaliation for filing a report that attested that “unsafe conditions existed".
The problem is that, there are extremely unsafe working conditions in this sewage plant, because although Grant was fortunate enough to survive, another employee, Herminio Padilla Jr., died in a different part of the plant earlier in January. According to the article, "Padilla, a father of three, fell through a metal floor grating, plunged into a channel of sewage sludge and was lodged in a 42-inch pipe for more than a day before his body was found." Another problem is that this sewage plant unfairly fires its employees for as repurcussions, instead of taking care of them.
The people who were affected by this problem was Grant, in his near-death and lawsuit, and Padilla, who unfortunately lost his life. Padilla's family clearly suffers from his death as well, with the loss of a husband and father, as well as a stable source of income for a family. - Rabies found in bat caught at Gardens; person put on shots
http://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/news/local/rabies-found-in-bat-caught-in-gardens-person-put-o/np9xF/
A bat that was fount at a residence in Palm Beach Gardens tested positive for rabies. The person who handled it must receive a series of shots.
The problem in that rabies is a highly dangerous disease. It is a disease of the nervous system and is fatal to warm blooded animals and humans. The only treatment for human exposure is rabies-specific immune globulin and rabies immunization. It is alarming that there was a case of it and human exposure, and improper and insufficient-timing treatment can cause an outbreak.
The most affected by this, was the person who was exposed to the bat with rabies. He or she must now start treatment and is likely to be in quarantine for some time. - Most Palm Beach County stocks taking a beating in a volatile market
http://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/business/most-palm-beach-county-stocks-taking-a-beating-in-/np9w6/
The stock market’s volatility has hit Palm Beach County companies hard. Only two of the 18 publicly traded companies headquartered in Palm Beach County have posted gains in 2016. According to the article, "The others posted losses ranging from 7 percent to 41 percent from the beginning of the year through late last week."
The problem is that stock market's volatility is causing panic and uncertainty for investors as well as the firms who are having losses because of this.
The most affected by this problem would be the firms who are losing money and future investors, which cause damage their profits as well. In addition, the investors are also affected as they are too nervous to invest in this unstable market.

Very Short Interview Number 1
The entrepreneur that I interviewed was Joseph Palermo, who has been running a very successful, fresh, and local farmer's market in my hometown of Delray Beach, Florida. The farmer's market has been in operation since 1988, called, "The Boys Farmer's Market".
Below is the transcript of our initial, introductory interview.
- What does it mean to be an entrepreneur?
- "First off, I would say that you have to take risks. I know everybody takes that but it's true. There's a lot of jobs where you'll know what the outcome will be, but being an entrepreneur is having a vision to see an ability for opportunity and growth in risks, and remainin confident. Another important thing with being an entrepreneur is that you'll have to work with a lot of people and it's critical that you don't burn bridges in your initial stages."
- What do you think I should learn in an entrepreneurship course?
- "Honestly, I have never taken an entrepreneurship course, so I wouldn't know what to say to that. But I guess in an entrepreneurship class, you should be encourages to think outside of the box and be vocal about your opinions, even if they don't necessarily agree with your textbook or what the professor says. No successful entrepreneur followed the rules from the textbook."
- What do you wish had been taught in school before setting out on your own path as an entrepreneur?
- "I wish that schools took out the time for a class in personal finance, why your credit score is important, the basic layouts of a mortgage. You know, real-life money related issues that everyone will face in the future. It's confusing and overwhelming to try to handle that all on your own."
In my reflection of this interview, I was surprised by Mr. Palermo's last answer regarding how schools should teach about matters in personal finance management. I agree with his opinion regarding that because, although we learn about accounting, finance, marketing, in intense coursework through our majors in order to graduate, one of life's biggest obstacles is managing your own money and financial responsibilities effectively and smartly.

Week 3: World's Biggest Problems
- International Terrorism
- Through current events, people all around the world are aware of ISIS and the dangerous threats they send out. ISIS, a radical Islamic terrorist group, has carried out some of these threats in a surprising, violent, and horrific nature. The most recent has been the Paris bombings, which devastated and stunned people around the globe. In addition, people were horrified to learn the details of the gruesome beheadings of international hostages, such as journalists and aid workers, as well as civilians and soldiers.
- Solution
- ISIS has made numerous threats to the United States and many other countries in the European Union as well. The best thing, as of now, is to have a tireless effort in surveying ISIS through counter-terrorism intelligence efforts, in order to intercept their messages and figure out their members.
- Climate Change
- Although there are some politicians who denounce that global warming exists, climate change is occuring at a rapid pace from a scientific perspective. It only seems like it's not occuring at all or slowly happening as we live our day-to-day lives. However, more and more ice polar ice caps are melting, which causes an increase in sea levels, which are causing more frequent typhoons, hurricanes, and monsoons, as well as seismic plate shiftings on our planet. Our climate is getting warmer as the years pass due to the increasing carbon dioxide emissions that the human race causes.
- Solution
- It is a politicallly social responsiblity of the governing nations that have a strong presence to lower their country's emissions. The First World countries, who are the richest and have access to the most resources, usually end up being the countries that emit the most carbon energy. The global environmental summits must continue but must push for a more aggressive and time-oriented implements.
- Solution
- It is a social responsibility of everyone inhabiting this Earth to live a ecologically conscious lifestyle. Each little thing can make a difference, such as turning off the water in the shower while you shampoo and use soap and American dorms should develop similar outlets like Korean dorms.
- Hunger
- There are hunger in many parts of the world, especially in less developed countries. However, hunger still is prevalent in first world countries as well. This is due to the gaps in socioeconimic statuses in both areas, ranging from wide gaps to small.
- Solution
- Hunger is one of those big world problems that may never get fixed as these socioeconomic conditions will be present as long as societies are in working order. It is a depressing though but there can't be a perfect utopian condition that we would like to imagine where hunger wouldn't exist. Steps to help out would be to donate food towards the global societies, such as the American Red Cross.
- Child Soldiers
- In war-stricken countries or countries that have uprisings and military conflict, it's become quite common for rebel militias to rise to power. However, these rebel militias are also quite violent and provides no aid to serve the country or region's problems, but rather love the power that they have to themselves. In destroying villages and committing murder, these rebel soldiers also kidnap young children and turn them into child soldiers, devoid of emotion and force them to carry weapons and use those weapons.
- Solution
- Because of the instability and violence in these regions, it is extremely difficult for outside nations to get involved and provide aid. A solution that would be difficult to reach would be for stronger and more powerful nations to provide inconspicuous aid to the regime that they deem to be the most stable, reasonable, and smart to help solve the crisis ongoing in the country and to abolish child soldiers.
- Solution
- There are currently many international organizations that tirelessly work to provide healthcare aid to these countires, such as the American Red Cross, as well as other nonprofit organizations. The best solution to these would be to provide donations to these organizations to fund their efforts.
- Human Sex Trafficking
- In many underdeveloped countries, human sex trafficking is prevalent as corrupt government officials can be bribed to look the other way and shady promises are made to young girls and children to lure them into these traps with the false promise of relocating to make more money. In reality, these girls and children are sold, and often traded to buyters in other countries for high sums of money.
- Solution
- The governments in these countries must recognize that this is a huge problem and must take huge efforts to prohibit these trades. They must treat this as a national crime and put pressure to rid the present corruption.
- Solution
- It's important for powerful countries, such as China, to put significant amounts of pressure on North Korea, in order to prevent them from doing harmful things.
- Species Extinction
- It's clear with habitat loss and illegal poaching, certain animals are near extinction. Certain breeds are dying out which will destrupt the cycle of life.
- Solution
- Construction in those areas must stop encroaching on these species' habitats and destroying not only their homes, but also their source for food and water in order to let them survive. There must also be a more strict enforcement on poaching and hunting.

- As a personal goal that everyone should keep for themselves, there should be certain parts of the day and week where there is a technology detox, so that more meaningful time can be spent for interpersonal communication.

Bug List (Week 2)
- The third floor of Library West is a quiet floor, so many students head there to study. However, it bugs me that it is also the hottest floor in the libary. The fourth floor is even more quiet, but disturbingly cold.
- I think there is a structural problem in the way the air conditioning units were designed within the library and the floors that the AC distributes toward.
- On certain three day weekends, where a national holiday is included, the libraries on campus are closed but are open on the holiday. For example, the weekend of 1/15-1/18, the library is closed on Sunday but is open on Monday, when it is Martin Luther King Day.
- They must schedule the staff that works in the library in that manner.
- There is not enough street parking in the city parking Zone 1 of Gainesville. They give out more street parking decals for that zone that there are enough spaces to park.
- There might be just enough spaces for cars but sometimes, people park taking up too much space, or students feel the need to park their scooters in spaces meant for cars.
- Apple's iPhone chargers are very flimsy and break easily.
- The cords are very delicate and when students are constantly putting their cords in and out of backpacks, it might cause wear and tear.
- Archer Road becomes very congested around 5-7pm.
- This is because many students and faculty are trying to leave the University of Florida campus.
- The turnpike after Thanksgiving break is backed up and very congested.
- Students are all driving back to campus to UF, FSU, UCF, UNF, and etc.
- It bugs me that sometimes I am forced to buy a textbook for class JUST for the access code, sometimes paying up to $100 to not use the textbooks at all, but the online code.
- Publishers and the school is trying to make a profit.
- The Starbucks on campus gives you drinks that are very watered down or sloppily made.
- The campus Starbucks are usually packed and the workers have to move in a fast-pace, sometimes hurrying up the orders.
- Flight delays with the airlines that seem to be based in the U.S., such as United, American Airlines, Delta, and Spirit.
- Although sometimes they may be due to weather, there have been countless times that my flights were delayed due to poor organization, planning, staffing, and irresponsiblity by the airline.
- Terrible customer service in American airports and airlines in America in general.
- The customer service that I get in Korean airports and Korean Airlines goes above and beyond. In the U.S., they treat you like you are a hassle and often rude. Cultural differences and low-wage paying job may be the reason.
- Friends who use their phone during meals or hangout time.
- They have just become too dependent on their phones and may not realize their rudeness.
- People who are late for appointments or meeting-times.
- As a punctual person, I hate waiting around for people because it wastes my time.
- Professors who read from their PowerPoint.
- In this day and age, they should make their lectures interesting and worthwhile.
- Homeless guys in Gainesville and the way they talk to girls who pass them on the street.
- There may be no clear-cut reason except harassment.
- Roommates who are not considerate of their wastefulness.
- They are just unaware of how wasteful they are in terms of turning off the lights, AC, water, and heat.
- Loud neighbors.
- They are unaware of extremely inconsiderate.
- Servers who only check on you once or no times during the night.
- It's either extremely busy or they are doing a poor job.
- People who expect things from you but won't return the favor.
- It's a give-and-take world and although I am happy to do some things, if it's a constant getting nothing in return deal, then the situation isn't fair.
- Classes that have group projects.
- It's not fair for professors to assign group projects where are grades are dependent on each other's ability to do work. A lot of the times, you can't count on group members and someone ALWAYS does the majority of the work.
- Slackers in group projects.
- They're just inconsiderate and lazy.
I did not find the bug list difficult to come up with as everyone has similar views on these pet peeves.
Week 2 Reading Reflection
In this week's assigned reading, the biggest surprise for me was realizing how much evolutionary development affected the entrepreneurial mindset. It was interesting to view entrepreneurship from the Integrated Perspective, according to Morris, Lewis, and Sexton (in the textbook citing). In the entrepreneurial process, the first process has various components in environmental opportunities, such as demographic change, the development of a new technology, or a modification to current applications. It was surprising to realize that the everyday changes that occur in this generation, sometimes going unnoticed, can provide opportunities for innovation and great entrepreneurship.
In this week's assigned reading, the part that was most confusing was the Dyanamic States Approach that was developed by researchers Jonathan Levie and Benyamin B. Lichenstein. The text was worded in a confusing way, as a dynamic state is "a network of relationships and systems that convert oppourtunity tension into value for a venture's customers, generating new resources that maintain the dynamic state." Although, this appears to talk about want and need, sometimes outside factors can become outliers that can go beyond the supposed dynamic state.
If I could ask two questions to the author, I would ask:
- "Would you say that you have a strong entrepreneurial mindset? If so, why?"
- I woud ask the author this question because I would want to figure out his motive for researching, analyzing, and collecting data into the creation of this textbook.
- "Which theory would you agree with most in this chapter, regarding the entrepreneurial process?"
- I would ask the author this question because there are a lot of theories covered in this chapter regarding the entrepreneurial process, some theories that overlap and some that conflict. I would be curious to know as to which one he seemed to identify the most with and which theory gave the best overall coverage of the entrepreneurial process.
I did not think there was anything the author was wrong about. He presented many definitions, data, and theories that were presented by other researchers throughout time. It was a good overall coverage and introduction into the entrepreneurial process.

Week 2: My Entrepreneurship Story
A time in my life that I have been exposed to entrepreneurship the most was only a couple of months ago when one of my closest and oldest friends started a gourmet cookie delivery service in Gainesville, called Cookiegazm. It is in direct competition of another late-night cookie delivery service that is well-known and well-established in Gainesville, called Midnight Cookies. However, my friend aims to compete with them by having shorter delivery times (Midnight Cookies can take up on an hour or hour-and-half for deliveries) and no delivery fees, as well as having a more inexpensive order in total. Cookiegazm operates in close proximity to the UF campus, so this enables them to reach their consumers more quickly. My experience seeing this demonstration of entrepreneurship from my friend, Daniel Leal (owner), was very inspiring. He is still a student at UF, however, he dedicates a great amount of time and devotion to his growing business, as it is not an easy task to be bearing so much responsibility. Not many people know the hardships of starting a new business, including all the rules and regulations to pass in the beginning stages, which would cause some people to give up. But Daniel didn't, and his small business is starting to gain momentum with his desired target market. Who knows what he and Cookiegazm can achieve this semester, but I have nothing but high hopes for him.
I enrolled in Principles of Entrepreneurship this semester because I wanted to be in a class where I could learn what it takes to be responsible and meticulous, as many students are, but also how to tap into innovation and how I could incorporate that into resources. Many students have the same resumes and goals nowadays, but it's their innovative thinking that makes them stand out from the rest. I hope to stand out.

Week 2: Introduction
My Story
If you're reading this... I'm probably eating...
Or I'm planning my next trip! I'm always ready to jet off to travel the world, see sights, have monumental adventures, and experience different cultures. This all happens of course as I eat my way through these countries, tasting all of the finest cuisines the world has to offer me.
My name is Jary Kim, and I'm from Seoul, South Korea! Although my family and I have lived in Florida for more than 10 years, Seoul is definitely my favorite city in the world and also, home. The city is my playground and I have a blast going back for summers and seeing my extended family and friends.
As a student at the University of Florida, my major is in Advertising, However, with my strong love for travel, I am also highly interested in international business. Therefore, with a minor in business, I will also apply for the combined Masters of International Business Program, offered at UF, beginning graduate classes at the beginning of my senior year, along with my undergraduate coursework. This will still enable me to graduate within four years, in May 2017. I hope to be employed abroad in Seoul, or in New York City after graduation.
With a high interest in the changing nature of the account and operations management process in companies due to globalization's and innovation's (i.e. social media for digital) profound impact on advertising, I aim to achieve a career in the digital and media aspect of marketing and/or advertising with a focus on account planning and creative strategy. In my pursuit of an International Business degree, I would like to work with global firms, and would experience work internationally.
